As we edge nearer to summer, Hemingford Park Cricket Club have been working hard on a much needed reset and are planning a busy summer of cricket when the season begins in May.
Hemingford U9s played brilliantly on Sunday to secure 2nd place at county club finals day on a hot Septembers day in Peterborough. A hugely impressive all round bowling display clinched a nail biting semi final against a talented Huntingdon CC. In the final Hemingford restricted Peterborough CC's classy batsmen well initially but the batting let them down a little against some really high quality opposition. A great mornings cricket was brought to a close as they were each awarded a well deserved silver medal rounding off a very impressive season for Hemingford Park's youngest age group. Ethan, Charlie, Sammy, Luca, Harry and Eddie Batting first in the semi final vs Huntingdon, Hemingford batted OK, but struggled more than they were used to

We are delighted to announce that Hemingford Park Cricket Club are now sponsored by local estate agents Wellington Wise. The club looks forward to working closely with Wellington Wise over the next few years to help improve the facilities at the club and expand and diversify our membership even further. Wellington Wise have become our shirt sponsor for the entire junior and senior sections and you may have noticed the banner on the side of the nets at the Pavilion. Thank you to Kate Kassar for arranging the sponsorship and to the money Wellington Wise have already kindly donated to the club.
Despite raining on and off throughout the day, the parents vs kids game went ahead on a sticky wicket that made batting difficult. Highlight of the day seemed to be a glorious straight drive for four from the bowling of his son Harry. But the very next ball Fowler Snr went for the same big shot missed it and over went his middle stump, much to the delight of Fowler Junior. Martin got one back for the parents, getting Rupert out but Ed showed his dad Will how its done with a great ball which made a mess of his dad's stumps. The family rivalry kept coming over after over for what was a lot of fun and £240 going towards
It was great to see such strong interest in the parents vs kids fundraiser, Monday 17th May. So many in fact we couldn't fit you all in so watch this space for a second game with priority given to those who missed out the last time. Format softball pairs where each player will bowl 2 overs, bat 4 overs with minus points every time you are out. We will match bowlers / batters to parents / children to make it interesting! Remember that the entry fee is £20 per parent / child pairing, all going towards the club's ambition of funding an artificial strip. Bank details will be available for a transfer. We have decided not to go ahead with a

We may consider going over the 18 limit but only if more volunteers come forward. Find attached the membership form, please can you print off, fill it in and bring it along with you on the 28th. It really helps if you are able to come along to the sign on day so we can get all of the admin out of the way before games and training begins, but please

As many of you know, Tim and Maria Chambers will no longer be re-applying for their places on the HPCC board this season. On behalf of the club, I would like to pass on a huge thank you to Tim who has made a colossal contribution to cricket in the Hemingfords. Many of you will know Tim as the All-Stars coach over the past few summers who has done a brilliant job introducing 5-7 year olds into cricket and making it a lot of fun at the same time. The success and popularity of the junior section today can be squarely attributed to Tim's fantastic work, the current batch of U11s having started in all stars. Tim is stepping down as
The Hemingford Pavilion NewsletterAs we all battle to recover from lockdown and the ongoing challenges faced by all our members under "the new normal" conditions, I'm delighted to be introducing our first quarterly Pavilion Newsletter. The Sports Academy's ambition pre-Covid was to begin and lead the process of developing better communication and partnership between the constituent clubs, with the long-term aim of this newsletter being the representation of EVERY constituent club and a whole site advertising, marketing & events calendar platform.Having supported both the Cricket and Football clubs in the past it is great to have contributions from both clubs in this test edition, and report their success in getting their programmes restarted. It has been superb to see activity returning to the site
