A balmy August evening in Alconbury under the steeple of the charming St Peter and St Paul church was the scene for for Hemingford U11s’ latest conquest. Finlay was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets to his name. He was ably backed up with solid overs from Louis and Emmett plus explosive spells from Aden and Ed. Some tidy bowling and several wickets pegged the home team to 253. In response Hemingford made steady but relentless progress to their goal. Sophia and Finlay laid a solid foundation before Millie and Charlie took the game away from Alconbury with positive running between the wickets and quick fire run accumulation to put Hemingford firmly in control. Aden and Ed saw the team home in the final overs although a flurry of late wickets led to a nail biting finale with Hemingford falling behind in runs with an over to go. A topsy turvy final over ended with Ed seeing off the final ball to secure yet another win for the unstoppable under 11s.
