Parents Vs Kids – Match Report

Despite raining on and off throughout the day, the parents vs kids game went ahead on a sticky wicket that made batting difficult. Highlight of the day seemed to be a glorious straight drive for four from the bowling of his son Harry. But the very next ball Fowler Snr went for the same big shot missed it and over went his middle stump, much to the delight of Fowler Junior. Martin got one back for the parents, getting Rupert out but Ed showed his dad Will how its done with a great ball which made a mess of his dad's stumps. The family rivalry kept coming over after over for what was a lot of fun and £240 going towards

Parents vs Kids May 17th – Confirmed Line-ups

It was great to see such strong interest in the parents vs kids fundraiser, Monday 17th May. So many in fact we couldn't fit you all in so watch this space for a second game with priority given to those who missed out the last time. Format softball pairs where each player will bowl 2 overs, bat 4 overs with minus points every time you are out. We will match bowlers / batters to parents / children to make it interesting! Remember that the entry fee is £20 per parent / child pairing, all going towards the club's ambition of funding an artificial strip. Bank details will be available for a transfer. We have decided not to go ahead with a

2021 Youth Team Registration Day is 28th April

Sign-on day is only a couple of weeks away now, Wednesday 28th April 2021 from 6pm. We may consider going over the 18 limit but only if more volunteers come forward. Find attached the membership form, please can you print off, fill it in and bring it along with you on the 28th. It really helps if you are able to come along to the sign on day so we can get all of the admin out of the way before games and training begins, but please

Thank you Tim and Maria Chambers

As many of you know, Tim and Maria Chambers will no longer be re-applying for their places on the HPCC board this season. On behalf of the club, I would like to pass on a huge thank you to Tim who has made a colossal contribution to cricket in the Hemingfords. Many of you will know Tim as the All-Stars coach over the past few summers who has done a brilliant job introducing 5-7 year olds into cricket and making it a lot of fun at the same time. The success and popularity of the junior section today can be squarely attributed to Tim's fantastic work, the current batch of U11s having started in all stars. Tim is stepping down as

All Stars to Start at HPCC Wednesday 22nd July

I'm pleased to announce that Tim Chambers is to start up All Stars from Wednesday 22nd July (tomorrow!). The sessions will last 6 weeks weather permitting each Wednesday from 6pm at the pavilion. We will of course be following the ECB COVID-19 guidelines so be prepared for sanitiser. Youth Cricket in Hemingford is Ready To Go!

We are just about ready to belatedly get going with the new season, starting with the U11s tomorrow night 6pm. Membership has been reduced to £10 to reflect the shortened season. Please fill in a membership form and bring it with you with payment at your first session. We have already started planning a few fixtures, I've entered them into an online calendar here http://www.hpcc.co.uk/events/  . We would like to use WhatsApp groups for all communication as it makes things much easier for coaches, but please let us know if you would rather not be part of a dedicated group for your age group. We absolutely encourage parents to get involved and help out with coaching, scoring and umpiring. But please speak with a coach first so we can

Recreational Cricket to restart at HPCC from 11th July

The government have given the go ahead to restart recreational cricket from 11th July. As a result, we will be starting up some training and hopefully get a few friendly games organised before the season is out. Please can you reply to me if you intend to come along? It is important we have an idea of numbers so we can plan and prepare accordingly and try to put some COVID-19 risk mitigation measures in place.  Please also download and fill in the membership form then bring it with you at your first session. There will be a revised membership fee reflecting the much shorter season, but we haven't yet decided what that will be. U9s (Years 3 & 4)Keelan and Paul will be running training 6pm

U13s Coach and COVID-19 Update

I am delighted to be able to introduce Mike Farmer from Aspired Coaching who is an ECB qualified cricket coach and has done a lot of work for Junior Country Cricket in the region. He has volunteered to run an U13s training session at The Pavilion one evening when we get back, in the hope that we have enough interest and we can make an arrangement with Mike to take on U13s cricket in some capacity later this summer. Some of you might recognise him from the County Hotshots sessions that took place before Christmas. For those of you with kids who are itching to get back into cricket, government and ECB guidelines now allow 1:1 outdoor training sessions to take place. Mike is available to
